China Cultural Center & Hakvutza – School for Movement and Dance welcome both professional and amateur dancers to participate in a unique workshop of Chinese ethnic dance with the dancers of Gansu Provincial Song & Dance Troupe.
The traditional dance of Gansu province, a vast land which lies between Tibet and Mongolia, presents various dance forms, customs and techniques, such as traditional dances of Chinese Han and Tang, Dunhuang style and other ethnic minorities in China, paper fans movement, ancient religious rituals and customs, thousand-hands Bodhisattva and more.
The workshop will take place at “Hakvutsa”, 47 Hashtulim Street, Tel Aviv.

Gansu Provincial Troupe of Song and Dance – The Gansu Opera House, founded in 1939, is recipient of dozens of awards. In 2005, the Chinese Ministry of culture awarded it the “advanced collective of cultural work in the whole country”. Over the past decades, it has performed more than 200 operas in China and worldwide. Its main choreographer and head of Gansu Opera House is Ren Manci. In 2015, she created the dance work Home in the “Beijing Dance Competition”, and won the second prize of compilation and performance. In 2018, she directed and choreographed special dance “In the Name of the Dance” and won wide acclaim.
