Known as one of the four ancient capitals in China, Nanjing is located in the Yangtze River Delta area in Eastern China and is the capital city of Jiangsu Province. It is a city that blends modernity and history as one, creating the perfect balance between progress and preservation. Nanjing is also only 300 kilometers away from Shanghai and is a stone’s throw away from other popular destinations such as Hangzhou, Suzhou and Mount Huangshan. In total, Nanjing has an area of 6,598 square kilometers and has a population of 8.4 million. There are 11 districts in Nanjing with the city center residing in Xinjiekou area.

Dr. Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum blends the essence of Chinese ancient and western architecture. Intangible cultural heritage like Nanjing cloud brocade, Qinhuai lanterns, local art of gold leaf making, Nanjing scripture engraving and paper-cutting has carried with them thousands of years of history and culture.
