News14.01.2019This November we celebrated the first Anniversary of China Cultural Center in Tel-Aviv. We
finally launched our new website, summed up the past year, made a toast to the upcoming
year ahead. The best part of course, was the incredible concert of the pipa player Prof. Zhang
Hongyan with her students who played traditional Chinese music with contemporary touch.
November has come to it’s end, and if you know us well- you sure know it’s our date night movie
time! this time we brought you Chen Kaige’s film- “Monk Comes Down the Mountain”.

every last Wednesday of the month.
As forecast predicted, December has started with a storm. That didn’t bother the contestants in the
“Ambassador’s Go Cup 2018” we hosted in our center, in cooperation with the Israeli Go Association.
Go or Weiqi (围棋) is a Chinese traditional board game, one of the most ancient in the world. We were
honoured to host one of the most prominent players today in China Master Zhang Wendong, who also
delivered us a lecture about current trends in Weiqi at the AI age.
And the winner is….
Hanukkah, Christmas, Eid al-Adha- we love this time of the year! As every December, we took part
in the Holiday of Holidays Festival in Haifa with a show that attracted hundreds of visitors. Between
the trees and decorations, you may have noticed the colourful performance of the ensemble Hebei
Provincial Academy of Art. After the festival, they came to our center for a final music and dance
show! Here’s a taste:
This December we were also honoured to establish the Israel-China Studies Association (ICSA).
The top Israeli researchers in the field and guests from the Chinese Academy attended the
inauguration event.
And finally, we closed the year with the film “The Nightingale”.
2018 has been a year of new beginnings! May the new year will be full of surprises!
