The Spring Festival Overture Chinese folk concert, full of the festival mood of the Chinese New Year, will feature the best wishes and expectations of the Chinese people for the year to come, and send a message of peace and harmony to all peoples of the world.
The 45-minute concert, performed by the folk music troupe of China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater, highlights the three features of “fusing music and dance, integrating culture and tourism, and a harmonious Spring Festival” with nine pieces of music on celebrating the Chinese New Year from various regions and ethnic groups of China
The pieces are folk orchestra Spring Festival Overture, Shanxi folk music, Yangko dance, Red Flowers in Snow, Korean ethnic chamber music, erhu, Xinjiang dance, The Grapes Are Ripe, Lofty Mountains and Flowing Water, Deep in the Night, Yunnan folk music, jinghu, long-sleeve dance.
