Traditional Chinese medicine is one of the most important cultural treasures of the Chinese nation, for thousands of years the knowledge of the ancient sages – the emperors Huang Yan – has been preserved and passed on through generations which is part of the Chinese cultural identity and sense of collective belonging. In recent years, Western medicine has also been trying to go beyond the defined boundaries that have shaped it throughout history and is slowly gaining certain aspects of Chinese medicine, and this can be seen in the clinics and Chinese medicine treatments that have gained popularity in recent years.
The main idea of this project is to present to the Israeli public the history of traditional Chinese medicine, the changes and developments it has undergone over the generations, and its current condition. We will learn what Chinese medicine looked like in the beginning, we will get to know the underlying literary classics, art and philosophical ideas that shaped it, all with the help of innovative technological means that will help us bring you the diversity and richness of traditional Chinese medicine.
The project consists of four parts:
A. The inseparable links between Chinese medicine and Chinese culture – history of Chinese medicine, traditional medical diagnostic methods, philosophical ideas, literature, the inseparable link between medicine and food, medicinal plants and culture of medical tourism in China. B. Medical tourism in China – Traditional medical tourism has gained great momentum in recent years in China, in this section we will present you the best sites in China and Taiwan related to traditional medical tourism, whether it is cultural tourism sites related to traditional Chinese medicine, conservation areas and development of traditional Chinese medicine, conservation tourist sites And body care according to the principles of Chinese medicine, pharmaceutical factories and more. Original literary work: “The Village of the Ancient Hundred Plants” – an original picture book depicting the legend of Emperor Shanong who is considered in Chinese culture to be the father of traditional Chinese medicine – in collaboration with the Bureau of Chinese Medicine. D. “Personal experience” – as part of the desire to reveal to the Israeli public the culture that accompanies traditional Chinese medicine, products such as: Chinese tea made from herbal extracts according to Chinese medicine recipes, socks with a map of meridians, the book Kfar Mea Hachamachim in hardcover, fabric maps of sites Medical tourism in China and more.
