Tiger – A Symbol of Power and Vigor Chinese Zodiacs Culture and Creativity Exhibition

עמוד הבית » Tiger – A Symbol of Power and Vigor Chinese Zodiacs Culture and Creativity Exhibition

3/2/2021

According to the Chinese Chronology of Stems-and-Branches, 2022 is the “Renyin” year, and the “Tiger” is the symbolic animal of the year in the Chinese lunar calendar. The tiger image will also replace the previous year’s zodiac animal and become another traditional cultural symbol of the Spring Festival.

The Spring Festival refers to the traditional Lunar New Year in the Chinese cultural circles, symbolizing ringing out the old year and ring in the new. At the end of the year, most of China’s land in the northern hemisphere is in the cold winter. As the saying goes, “the colder it gets, the stronger the flavor of the new year turns to be”. Whenever a wanderer struggling away from home misses the flavor of his hometown, he looks out of the window and sees the white snow outside, feeling that the warm moment of reunion with the family is approaching.

Most regions of China are in a temperate monsoon climate with four distinct seasons and cold winter in particular. In winter, people not only celebrate the Spring Festival of family reunion, but also enjoy various ice and snow activities. The ground is covered with snow and the fantastic and dreamy scenery can be seen everywhere. With the rapid development of domestic ice and snow tourism in recent years, the primary objective is stated explicitly in the Action Plan for Development of Ice and Snow Tourism (2021-2023) in 2021 of “Driving 300 Million People to Enjoy Winter Sports” to help promote and improve the high-quality development of ice and snow culture and tourism.

With the integration of the zodiac “Tiger” and the “Winter Cultural Tourism”, 2022 Tiger –A Symbol of Power and Vigor Chinese Zodiacs Culture and Creativity Exhibition focuses on the zodiac animal of the year, the traditional Chinese culture and art, and special tourism, presenting Chinese traditional culture in a creative and innovative manner. Artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait work together, making full use of cultural and creative activities and tourism resources, to pray for peace and good fortune in the coming year, showing jointly the Chinese festival culture to the world.

The Spring Festival is a widely participated and grand festival of the Chinese nation. The Chinese people are full of beautiful expectations for the coming year. The “Tiger –A Symbol of Power and Vigor Chinese Zodiac Culture and Creativity Exhibition” starts from the image of the “brave, powerful and unyielding” tiger, symbolizing that the new zodiac year will bring hope and peace to the world recovering from the epidemic after experiencing challenges and also new opportunities to the impacted tourism industry economy.

This is an online zodiac exhibition. On the basis of the twelve zodiacs representing the traditional Chinese New Year culture, and with the winter cultural tourism and tiger image culture and creativity design as the show planning idea, the exhibition is divided into three major sections: The Year of the Tiger Graphic Exhibition, Winter Cultural Tourism Exhibition, and The Year of the Tiger Cultural and Creative Product Exhibition.

The online exhibition is organized by the Overseas China Cultural Center to disseminate and promote the outstanding traditional Chinese culture represented by the Chinese zodiac to the general public and overseas Chinese, and convey the good spirit of upholding unity and cooperation and adhering to the belief in victory.
